Circulation Rules
- All student must present their college ID before borrowing any library materials.
- Books are issued to all eligible members as per their entitlements.
- Library materials may not be removed from the library unless the library staff has properly issued them out.
- Library provides 3 books to students and 5 books to faculty at a time.
- All borrowed materials must be returned on or before due date.
- Students are not allowed to borrow books on behalf of others or transfer borrowed materials to other students.
- If you failed to return the book on time, library may charge Rs.5/- per day for text books and Rs.10/- per day for reference books.
- Any marking with pen or pencil, folding pages in the book is not appreciable.
- The borrower’s ID bar code no. (admission no.) needs to be entered in the book card while issuing the book.
- Details of the issued book / books must be entered in the issue register.
- No book in damaged condition will be accepted from the reader. Damaged books will have to be replaced by the borrower.
- The borrowers should check the book thoroughly for missing pages or any other damages etc., while borrowing the book.
- Photocopying, mobile clips etc., is strictly prohibited for project reports
- If any book is unfortunately lost, the new copy of the book has to be returned by the concerned member or to pay the cost of book at the earliest. If the original library book is returned after reporting it lost, the fine will be calculated till the date of its return.
- The borrowing facility can be restricted in case of misbehavior or misuse of the library.
- Reservation Policy: There will be 2 reservations for students and 3 reservations for faculty. For each book maximum reservation allow 3 times. Reserved books to wait for 3 days to collect. It would apply for all categories of readers.
- Sealing Limit: Sealing limit for fine accumulation for students is Rs. 200 and faculty is Rs. 250. No further issue transaction should be allowed.
- If due date falls on Sunday and holiday it should be exempted for fine calculations.
- Vacation Issue System: If the authorities approve, library may allow students to get books issued as per the rules.
General Disciplinary Rules
- ID card must be scanned by patrons while entering and before leaving the library.
- All personal belongings like bags, folders etc. must be left in the luggage racks at the entrance of the library.
- Valuable property should not be brought in the library.
- The library shall not take any responsibility for loss of personal property like money, mobile, camera etc.
- Use of mobile phone is strictly prohibited in the library.
- All users must observe total silence in the library and its environs at all times.
- Good order must be observed in the library at all times. For example, eating and drinking, smoking, sleeping etc. will not be allowed.
- Use of sound equipments like radio, speakers etc. are strictly prohibited in the library.
- No book shall be misplaced while browsing the shelves.
- Users are not allowed to re-shelf books after removing them from the shelf. Books are supposed to be left on the reading table after reference.
- Anyone caught marking, defacing or mutilating books or any other library material will be expected to pay for the material with the most current edition of the same.
- No library equipment may be moved, modified or tampered without permission from the librarian.
